1) Legal issues:
One can make an inquiry, ultimately, to the House of Lords, in search for justice.
2) House of Lords:
Peerages / memberships are appointed, not elected; members include the Archbishop of Canterbury (head of the Church of England).
3) When something is going wrong:
A Royal commission will be formed to investigate; members are also appointed, not elected. The investigation will take at least one year.
