Most of the plasma weapons reference found on the net are not reliable, since we have no way to confirm it due to the fact that many of them are done by groups like skunk of phantom, and their works are highly classfied, or even black projects. The one I mentioned MARAUDER is from the dept. of energy, and it isn't in the discovery show. The MARAUDER doesn't mention anything about the military application of it, but it doesn't stop people to make association or educated guess.
If MARAUDER works, a projectile filled with compressed superheated plasma can be very useful. One thing is that if this weapon is not charged, it is totally harmless. Unlike conventional explosive, storing them in large among creates big risk. Also, plasma projectile is a lot cleaner after explosion. That also helps.
As for Star Wars. I like Anakin Skywalker and of course, Yoda, everybody likes him.
