at Whitehead (?). He approaches the new data much from tools developed for population genetics. So, people from two fields have strong quantitative traditions that are entering genomics: population genetics and structural biology. Molecular evolution is also somewhat computational, but I haven't seen many researchers make career shift there to genomics and new systems biology.
What's related to these big genomics lab is also tricky politics, as always behind big money especially these days.
