nobody will ever do things like that.

回答: I mean the missiles are on the orbit 由 xinku 于 2006-4-03, 14:33:59:

Geostationary orbit is quit far a way, and maneuver in orbit is not as simple as you think. It has to go through orbit transfer, which many Chinese netters have no clue and yet mentioning it all the time. I have read somewhere here in this forum that people claimed using thrust vectoring on a ICBM to achive orbit transfer being a well-known technology. That's such BS. thrust vectoring only works for airplance and doesn't work for SV. All orbit transfer has to go through hohmann or Bi-elliptic transfer which has nothing to do with thrust vectoring. To maneuver SV from geostationary orbit to aim the US, it has to go through plane transfer and a series of orbit trasfers. The inclination geostationary orbit is 0, and on this orbit, it will never hit the US. Changing inclination is very complicated, since there is only one window, or spot to change plane, if you miss that spot, you have to circle the whole orbit to find it back, and it requires a lot of burn/thrust to change inclination. Then since the apogee is 35,786 km, and is really really far way, after it transfer to lower orbits, and then it transfer plane, and then it transfer to an even lower orbit for reentry, it takes hours if not a day. After so many transfer, only God knows where it will end up. Plus if this is an missle, it would have been intecepted long ago.
