Why did he mention the ranking?
He can directly instruct the clerk to put the following words in the homepage of CAS:"CAS is one of the leading institute of sciences in the world. Its mission is to conduct fundemental research....".
Mentioning the ranking means he admits that the ranking is meaningful, which he should have disputed. He acturally can dispute any ranking about institutes and insist that CAS is one of the leadings. Period.
If he followed this approach, you guys can never win.
