While worrying ploygamy would be a bit far-fretch, worrying the missing women in China and India is not. Both polygamy and female infantcide will create female shortage. And neither countries has the tradition of competing for a wife through courting (because of the low status of women). The prevalence of male Chauvinism in both countries make the competition is more or less like "buying" a wife rather than "courting". So no larger engagement rings, no two dozen roses for Valentines. Only cat fights between men.
Alas, both countries has state-of-art toys for men: the nuclear weapons.
