actually, it's quite a surprise to me.
in 2005, there are about 6.5 billion people on Earch. 2.8 billion people living in countries with per-capita GDP lower than China, 3.5 billion people living in countries with per-capita PPP lower than China.
so, if looking at PPP, China is already in upper half!
