Shanghai Jiao Tong presents 24-bit, 32-bit DSPs

Mainland China – Shanghai Jiao Tong University's School of Microelectronics has developed 24- and 32-bit DSP chips featuring independent intellectual property (IP).
According to the university, the 24-bit DSP possesses an operation speed of 150 million instructions per minute and a CPU clock speed of 150MHz. Meanwhile, the 32-bit DSP has a speed of 600 million instructions and 300MHz, and a power consumption of 0.3mW/MHz, which is suitable in data communications, radar systems, digital products, fingerprint recognition systems, image recognition and network.
Moreover, a new company, named Shanghai HIsys Semiconductor Technology Co. Ltd, has been established to undertake the development and sale of these new products. At present, HIsys Semiconductor has already received orders of 1.5 million units for 16-bit DSPs.
