exercise is graded as low intensity to high intensity, that is, light, moderate, to vigorous. Scientifically, we use METS to measure intensity.
The effects of exercise is more evident in vigorous exercise, but the exercise can be any, fast running, long distance running, etc.
I think Fang is refering to the highly repetitive gymnastic exercise such as light aerobotic exercise popular among Chinese white collar workers. They are expensive but the effects are far smaller than a 60 minutes running.
