By law, both judge and jury are required by law to ignore everything happening outside court room.
But humans are humans. First there is no effective way to prevent a judge or juror to be affected by such things. Secondly, a judge or a juro, even they swear to themselves they only hear evidence in teh courtroom, they may be sutbly influened by what they read and hear outside corutroom.
