Xiao-Ning Chen

Research Scientist
Xiao-Ning Chen is a research scientist within the Division of Medical Genetics at Cedars-Sinai. Ms. Chen is also an adjunct associate professor of pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Ms. Chen has been recognized for her scientific contribution to the field of molecular cytogenetics. She was a co-director of the team of researchers who developed the first Integrated Human BAC Resource, which was later used as a model for a joint publication in Nature (the Human Genome special issue) in 2001.

Ms. Chen has written more than 75 articles for peer-reviewed publications, and she authored six book chapters, including one for an encyclopedia. She served as a reviewer for BioTechniques, Cytogenetics and Cell Genetics, and the Journal of Histochemistry and Cytochemistry. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Human Genetics and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Ms. Chen earned her bachelor of medicine from Navy Medical School in China. She completed a residency at General Navy Hospital in Beijing and a fellowship in hematology at Beijing Medical University. She earned her master's degree in biology from City College, City University of New York.
