There is a difference between respect of free speech and endorsing content of certain speech.
Western governments may choose to respect free speech right of holocaust cartoons sanctioned by Iranian papers by doing nothing.
Western media may choose not to endorse these cartoons by refusing to reprint them. It's also a form of free speech.
Personally I think Europe's anti-Nazi speech and anti Holocaust-denying laws are over the top.
