Lead simulation development and performance analysis tasks. Develop, verify, validate, document and maintain Six Degree of Freedom simulations. Run simulations and evaluate missile performance against requirements. Identify and direct course of action for simulation development, integration, verification and validation. Includes establishing simulation methodologies and priorities, establishing schedules and milestones, interfacing with customer on technical issues associated with simulation credibility and requirements, and directing/tasking other employees in accomplishing their tasks. Simulation lead will write Simulation Development Plan and Verification / Validation Plan which set the direction of the simulation development activities. Simulation lead will also work closely with the Systems IPT Lead to direct the system performance verification activities with regard to the simulation activities. Cost Account Management responsibilities may be assigned to Simulation Lead.
The Principal Systems Engineer will apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts to the design and development of complex navigation systems. The engineer will contribute to the development of new principles and concepts, while solving unusually complex technical problems and providing solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.
The Principal Systems Engineer works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives, as assignments are often self-initiated. The engineer is able to determine and pursue the course of action necessary to obtain desired results. Work is checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by formal review by a supervisor.
The Principal Systems Engineer will develop advanced technological ideas and guide their development into a final product. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve critical organizational objectives and affect the image of the organization's technological capability. The engineer will also serves as the organization's spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs, and act as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.
